EMIL A. TANGHETTI, MD

 

Dr. Emil A. Tanghetti was born and raised in Sacramento.  He attended U.C. Davis where he excelled in his studies and received early admission to UCLA School of Medicine after only three years of undergraduate studies.  After completing his medical studies and a 1-year pathology fellowship, Dr. Tanghetti graduated first in his class receiving the Dean Warren medal for academic excellence.  Upon finishing an Internal Medicine residency at Stanford University and dermatology at Harvard School of Medicine, he completed a fellowship in photo-medicine at the Wellman labs at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Tanghetti is a board certified dermatologist and a fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology.  He is currently listed in the "Best Doctors in America,", Pacific region and recognized as a "Top Doc" by the Sacramento Magazine.  Dr. Tanghetti has received a "Hero In Health Care" award for his volunteer work in removing tattoos for the California youth authority.  In addition he is a clinical professor of Dermatology at U.C. Davis and a fellow in the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Dr. Tanghetti conducts clinical research and lectures extensively on new uses of vitamin-A derivatives for photo-aged skin, acne and psoriasis.  He also trains physicians and nurses on the clinical uses of lasers and has conducted numerous clinical research studies in laser medicine.  Dr. Tanghetti has published numerous articles in medical journals.
