We welcome the opportunity to discuss some of the services we provide with your group. We have been in continuous practice in the Sacramento area since 1980. We were one of the first centers to introduce lasers into an office-based practice in 1994. Our facility currently has twenty lasers which are used to treat vascular lesions, wrinkles, unwanted hair, tattoos, sun damage, and other dermatologic problems.
We are committed to helping young people with unwanted tattoos. For the six years we have treated eight to ten young people per week from the California Youth Authority who desire to remove their tattoos. And we look forward to continuing this program. We also have participated in tattoo removal programs for the young people of Yolo County. On numerous occasions we have treated free of charge students from Davis and Woodland high schools at our facility. We were honored for our efforts with a front-page write-up in the local newspaper. More recently, Dr. Tanghetti was honored by the local "Heroes in Healthcare Program" with a community service award for these tattoo removal programs.
We have vast experience treating patients of all skin types. Dr. Tanghetti was also voted "Top Doc" by Sacramento magazine for the last two years. We have a five thousand square foot state-of-the-art facility which allows comfortable and private treatment sessions. We have a well-trained nursing staff ready to assist before, during, and after procedures. Dr. Tanghetti offers twenty-four hour coverage for all patient problems and emergencies.
Our center has published numerous articles based on studies that we have conducted utilizing our own lasers to study a host of dermatologic conditions. These articles have appeared in academic journals, textbooks, and have been presented at dermatologic conferences. We currently have ongoing clinical studies with new drugs to treat dermatologic conditions. Dr. Tanghetti has a commitment to ongoing clinical research investigation.
